## 名称与来历

植物智把栽培菊花的正名写作“菊花 Chrysanthemum × morifolium”，俗名有秋菊、鞠；学名中的 × 表示杂交起源。纽约植物园图书馆的资料指出，菊花最早在中国栽培，起初主要作为食用的草药；传到日本后获得皇家地位，天皇的官方印章和纹章上就用菊花。

## 命名、异名与误用名

这个名字的基原名是 Ramatuelle 1792 年发表的 Matricaria × morifolia，1889 年 Hemsley 把它组合进 Chrysanthemum。Curtis's Botanical Magazine 1796 年第 327 图记录它新近引入英国时，用的名字是 Chrysanthemum indicum；WCVP 把这种用法列为误用名，野生的 C. indicum 是另一个种。下表是 WCVP 所列的同模式异名，异模式异名可以展开查看。
