## 概述

百子莲属 Agapanthus 属石蒜科，Kew 记载的原生范围是莫桑比克至南非；WCVP 接受的种见下表，数量不多。花店常见的百子莲在身份表里记为 A. praecox。

RHS 把栽培的百子莲分成两类：落叶型秋天落叶，是“最强健、最耐寒的百子莲”；常绿型较不耐寒，最好在冷温室里越冬，冷凉地区可种在盆里、冬天搬进室内。花从仲夏开到初秋，以蓝色为主，也有紫色和白色；植株高从 20–60 厘米到 1.5 米不等。

## 分类与形态

WCVP 以 L’Héritier 1788 年的《Sertum Anglicum》为本属的发表处，并把 Abumon、Mauhlia 和 Heister 1755 年发表的 Tulbaghia 作为异名并入。后者只是与紫娇花属 Tulbaghia L. 同名，并非同一个属。

Flora Zambesiaca 的描述：多年生地下芽草本，茎直立，根状茎粗；根纺锤形、肉质；叶线形，边缘平滑、有棱。

## 切花处理

Floral Design Institute 的花材资料：应在第一批小花即将开放前购入，花序还紧的、只露色或只开几朵的最好。处理时用利刀剪去 5–8 厘米茎段，先在加了商品保鲜剂的水里吸水，再冷藏或使用；冷藏 1–2 °C（34–36 °F）。瓶插期 6–12 天，小花在几天里陆续开放。

百子莲对乙烯敏感。落花主要由乙烯引起，未开的花蕾尤其容易掉；白花品种比蓝花品种更容易提早落花。
